There were a couple of small fires in Kankakee Thursday. Workers demoing a building a BASF in the 2500 block of Kensington ignited some insulation in a wall with a torch. The fire was put out quickly and there were no injuries. In the afternoon fire fighters were called to a home in the 2600 block of East Court Street where a small electrical fire broke out outside at the meter. Damage was minimal, estimated at less than 2000 dollars. The house has no power, but is still inhabitable.
