9 Year Old South Wilmington Boy Testifies In Springfield

A South Wilmington boy who is the recipient of a donated kidney testified before lawmakers in Springfield Wednesday in support of a bill that would allow businesses a tax credit for giving employees 30 days of paid leave if they decide to be a living organ donor.

9 year old Evan Simms appeared before the Senate Revenue Committee that is considering the measure that would give business a credit equal to 25 percent of the employee’s wages if they are granted the leave.

No date for a vote by the committee on Senate Bill 68 has been set.
