An Iroquois County famer has been ordered to serve 364 days in prison for violating the terms of his probation for federal crop insurance fraud. According to a press release from the Department of Justice, 40-year-old Jeremy Seggebruch of Cissna Park was taken into custody January ninth when a US District Judge revoked his probation. The judge has previously sentences Seggebruch to three years probation for underreporting the amount of corn harvested under a federal crop insurance claim. Seggebruch was also ordered to pay restitution of just under 301-thousand-dollars. The federal judge said Seggebruch violated the terms of his probation by taking part in a Federal Crop Insurance program through his sisters company and receiving benefits from the USDA among other violations.
